spelt in cooking
The Spelt from Poggio del Farro is extremely versatile: its rice-like grains can be used for recipes ranging from salads to soups, main courses, side dishes and even desserts.
Also, unlike some other grains, spelt doesn’t require soaking and cooks in only 15 minutes for salads or 18 minutes for Farrotto or soup. Instead with express spelt you will have a salad or a typical Tuscan soup in just 2 minutes.
The best condiments for spelt pasta - which is rich in fibres and cooks in only 7 minutes - are vegetables and/or fish.
Spelt flour, mixed with a small percentage of wheat flour, can be used to prepare excellent home made pasta, bread, pizza as well as tarts and biscuits.
