Spelt characteristics
Organic spelt, from the Alto Mugello area, can be found on the tables of consumers, who prefer it both for its different qualities:
- high in vitamins A, B, C, E and mineral salts
- high in proteins
- low in gluten
- a softening agent in the intestines (thanks to the bran and oil content of its germ), it is refreshing and prevents constipation.
Spelt it's the ideal ingredient for healthy and particularly tasty dishes.
Furthermore, it is considered a basic food product with a natural remedy for many illnesses, and a natural culture, which is gaining ground, restoring and rationalizing ancient traditions. This does not mean turning the kitchen into a chemist’s, or using only spelt for medicinal purposes, but it can be regarded as an essential food product, meeting our body requirements better than other foods.
